Today, visitors can explore the beautiful landscape of Luxembourg and visit the places where historical events are memorialised, such as General McAuliffe Monument, dedicated to the memory of General Anthony McAuliffe, Division Artillery Commander and Acting Division Commander of the 101st US Airborne. In the surroundings of the city, we can see different monuments like McAuliffe, Patton, Glessener and Cady.

Day 1

Arrival in Luxembourg City.

Day 2

Head north to Clervaux and stop at Clervaux Castle, which was destroyed by fire on 19 December 1944. Visit the Battle of the Bulge Museum, which is housed in the castle, and the exhibition ‘The Family of Man’. Then leave for Diekirch and visit the National Military History Museum Battle of the Bulge. Check out the Statue of General Georges S. Patton and the Memorial US Sherman tank.

Day 3

Travel to Wiltz, where the movement of resistance to Nazi oppression began on 31 August 1942. Stop by the Strike Monument, which offers panoramic views of the city. Explore the section ‘City of Martyrs’ at the Brewery and Tannery Museum, gaze over Wiltz Castle and visit the National Liberation Memorial Schumann’s Eck.

Day 4

On your way back to Luxembourg City, stop by Ettelbruck to visit the General Patton Memorial Museum dedicated to General George Patton, commander of the 3rd US Army, whose troops liberated the town in December 1944.

Day 5

Return to Luxembourg City and walk through the Luxembourg American Cemetery and the German military cemetery in Sandweiler.

Day 6

Travel to Esch-sur-Alzette and spend some time in the National Museum of Resistance to recall the history of the country from 1940 to 1945. Return to Luxembourg City. End of tour.
