Decades have passed since that Sunday on the 6th of May 1945, when the 16th Armored Division on the Third United States Army under the command of General Patton entered Pilsen´s territory. In the days of May 1945, when the Allied forces had reached Czechoslovakia, the war came to an end not only for Pilsen but also for the whole Europe.

Take a journey with us to the time of the liberation of Pilsen and Southwest Bohemia by the U.S. Army at our guided tour and the Patton Memorial Pilsen Museum. This memorial maps the liberation efforts of the U.S. Army in Pilsen and South-West Bohemia in 1945. You will see there period footage, authentic photographs of the liberation, texts describing historical events, equipment and weaponry, personal items and memorabilia, etc.

The tour continues with stops at memorials and visit to the City Hall archways. During this guided tour you will see the historical city centre, you can admire the Gothic St Bartholomew´s Cathedral, the Great Synagogue and many beautiful historical houses.

Expert guided tour of the Patton Memorial Pilsen. This memorial maps the liberation efforts of the U.S. Army in Pilsen and South-West Bohemia in 1945. Besides weapons and war equipment, the original exhibits include also items reflective of soldiers´ everyday life. The exhibition is also devoted to the efforts of the totalitarian regime to distort historical facts about U.S. Army´s presence and actions in Pilsen.

The tour continues with stops at WWII memorials and places, where the liberation took place in 1945. You will also have a chance to visit the City Hall archways, important place during the liberation. A three-course lunch at a renowned restaurant in the center with one drink is also included in the package.
