This program will explore the Battle of Market Garden and why the defeat was inevitable. These historic places immortalise forever our duty to remember.
Camp Vught
Arrival at Vught and visit to the Memorial Centre and the rebuilt barracks, which show how the prisoners lived in this concentration camp.
Day 2Oosterbeek and Arnhem
Depart from Arnhem to visit the Oosterbeek areas and learn about Operation Market Garden and the Battle of Arnhem. The visit will start with the Hartenstein Airborne Museum, Schoonoord Cross-Roads, Oosterbeek Airbone Cemetery and follow the route taken by John Frost into the famous ‘Bridge Too Far’. Stop en route at the Tafelberg Hotel, the home of Kate Queripel, Cpt. Cain, Lt. Grayburn and Flt Lt. Lord who all won the coveted Victoria Cross.
Day 3Groesbeek and Nijmegen
Depart to Groesbeek and visit the National Liberation Museum and battlefields. Take a break in the beautiful town of Nijmegen, also visiting the bridge there.
